Current research

The laboratory’s primary research focus is the design of molecular magnets based on coordination compounds of transition metal ions with paramagnetic organic ligands. The development of this field opens the way to compounds with diverse functional applications, including building blocks for magnetic and redox-active systems, initiators of controlled radical polymerization, spin labels, contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging, key components of organic electronics and spintronics, as well as functional elements of quantum computers.

Heterospin compounds are considered promising systems for the creation of switches, molecular sensors, and actuators capable of controlled operation under the influence of light, temperature, pressure, or magnetic fields. Research is also being carried out on the development of magnetoactive compounds with potential applications in biomedicine.
